Jon Meadows

BSc Hons Ost

Owner of Meadows Wellbeing & Billingshurst Osteopaths

Jon Meadows is a friendly and familiar face to many local residents in Billingshurst and the surrounding towns and villages. He is also widely respected for not only his considerable experience and expertise in the field of Osteopathy, but also for his incredibly approachable, kind and calm approach to treating his patients.

After completing a four year Honours Degree at the British School of Osteopathy in London, Jon returned to his home town and established Billingshurst Osteopaths – which was well over 20 years ago now.

Whilst building the practice, Jon decided to widen his skills further and attend courses in Cranial Osteopathy which to this day is still a huge passion of his. He also joined the teaching faculty at the British School of Osteopathy (subsequently renamed the Rollin E Becker Institute) and has been involved in post graduate teaching and lecturing in the subject until more recently. Jon also currently organises two courses a year at Kings College, London in Anatomy and Pathology on behalf of the teaching Institute for qualified Osteopaths.

The Billingshurst Osteopaths practice went from strength to strength, with new Osteopaths and therapists joining the team and the demand for expert care increasing as the village has grown.

However, throughout the years, Jon has always had the desire to open a multi-disciplinary practice, with the best therapists in their field practicing together as part of a cohesive team, providing not just Osteopathy but an extensive range of Complementary and Alternative therapies as well.

Jon opened Meadows Wellbeing on 1st June 2020 in the heart of Billingshurst and has moved the Billingshurst Osteopaths team across the road into the new practice.

The support locally for Jon’s new venture has been incredible – making his long-term dream come true.

Fiona Richards

Practice Manager

Here’s your chance to get to know Fiona a little better – our  new Practice Manager who has recently joined the Meadows Wellbeing Management Team.

Fiona, where have you joined us from?

My background is both working as an executive PA and owning my own pubs/music venue.  I worked for many years in London for large corporate companies which was where I met my husband.  After the birth of our son we moved out of London to Horsham and brought our first pub/restaurant, this was a huge leap for both of us but we loved the business we built and the people we met along the way.  During our ‘pub years’ we were able to support the community that supported us and we raised over £76,000 for local charities, mainly through my husband putting together three major cycle rides but also a 24 hour Scalextric marathon.

Where can you be found when you’re not working wonders at Meadows Wellbeing?

My husband has persuaded me to go out cycling with him from time to time (which I have to admit I really enjoy) but I cherish the time we get to spend as a family…getting away from mobile phones and any other electronic gadgets.  Long term my dream is to retire and set up a donkey sanctuary.

What do you enjoy most about your role with MW?

I love what Meadows Wellbeing is all about and how beneficial it will be to so many people.  The scope of my role will grow as the practice grows, which really excites me.  I have found it fascinating learning about the different therapies we offer and thoroughly enjoyed talking to all of the therapists that are joining Meadows Wellbeing.

I can’t wait to get going, meet new people and being part of a great team.

Becky, where have you joined us from?

My background is both working as an administration officer for Surrey County Council and running the accounts and administration as a Company Director for a high end AV company.  I am a mother of two amazing girls who like to keep me busy, we moved from Surrey to West Sussex 6 years ago and love living in this area.

Where can you be found when you’re not working wonders at Meadows Wellbeing?

I love horses and although I don’t own my own anymore I am still actively involved with them, my daughter rides and I enjoy supporting her and riding out with her occasionally.  I have recently taken up running, which I love and find a real challenge, I am aiming for a half marathon.  I enjoy being out in the countryside,  I have a beautiful Goldendoodle who is a well loved family pet so walking regularly keeps me out and about.  I enjoy seeing family and friends and making the most of my time when not at work.

What do you enjoy most about your role with MW?

My role at Meadows Wellbeing came at a perfect time for me.  I wanted to have a position that involved more client contact and here everyone is so friendly and positive.  Meadows Wellbeing is all about promoting wellbeing and health and I love this way of being.  I have a keen interest in a healthy lifestyle and love how much difference Meadows Wellbeing makes to the people who come here for therapies.  All the practitioners and staff here are so positive and I am enjoying being part of this exciting new coalition of talent and professionalism.

I hope my role here develops as the business grows and I look forward to each day here, who I will meet next and what I will learn.

Sue Sanderson

Reception Manager

Sue is our Reception Manager at Meadows Wellbeing.

Sue, where have you joined us from?

My background is in dancing. I was a professional dancer throughout my twenties and when I met my husband, who is a magician, we formed a magic illusion act and travelled the world for a few years performing on cruise ships. After that, we settled in Billingshurst and started a family and have two wonderful children. I was then a teaching assistant at a primary school for 7 years followed by a duty manager role on reception at a local country club.

Where can you be found when you’re not working wonders at Meadows Wellbeing?

I have two dogs, a Labrador who is now quite old and poorly and a Jack Russell who loves attention, also a cat who loves to sleep. I love to keep fit by going to the gym with my daughter, I also really enjoy Pilates, body balance and yoga.

What do you enjoy most about your role with MW?

I am really happy to be working at Meadows Wellbeing on reception, interacting with the clients and practitioners. The practice has a wonderful calm and welcoming feel to it and each day brings something new and exciting.
