At Meadows Wellbeing
Pregnancy Massage Therapy
If you’re a mum-to-be in need of some extra special TLC, a Pregnancy Massage is the perfect way to unwind and relax and provide some much needed ‘me-time’ before the big day arrives.
There are so many benefits from experiencing massage throughout your pregnancy. It can help with relieving physical stress and tension as a result of the increasing strain on your back, neck, shoulders and abdominal muscles, as well as helping to improve circulation and reducing any possible fluid retention.
It also has a very positive effect on your emotional wellbeing too, by helping to boost your mood and energy levels, relieve anxiety and calm your mind as well as your body.
Don’t forget to take a look at our ‘What To Expect’ section below for all the extra details about your massage session and to answer any questions you might have.

What To Expect From Your Consultation & Treatments
Your appointment will last for either 60 minutes or 30 minutes depending on the treatment you have booked.
A mixture of techniques may be used during your treatments depending on your needs.
The massage is very relaxing and gentle. You can let your massage therapist know if you are happy to have your bump massaged or not, it’s entirely up to you. Your therapist will go at a pace and pressure you feel comfortable with.
Your therapist will not use any essential oils during your massage. They will apply unscented, nut-free massage wax or an unscented complete carrier oil/rapeseed oil.
To make you as comfortable as possible, your therapist will provide lots of comfy pillows and towels to provide support to different areas of your body e.g. in between your knees, under your hips to support your pelvic area, under your shoulders and of course under your bump to ensure you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
Your massage will be mostly carried out with you lying on your left hand side. You will be gently moved on to your right hand side near to the completion of your session. Many people have been very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable a massage is in this position, as opposed to lying on your front.
Your therapist will check on your needs throughout your session, but please let them know at any time if you need to adjust your position or supporting pillows.
You can enjoy a massage with us at any stage of your pregnancy.
You will need to book a full body massage as your initial massage (initial consultation) before you can book a 30 minute massage with us in the future.
If there are any concerns or complications that have been flagged in your pregnancy your therapist will need a signed letter from your midwife midwife/consultant to state that you are safe to treat.
During your third trimester you are very welcome to invite your partner/birthing partner along to your session if you’d like to. Your therapist can teach you both some simple and effective massage techniques that can help during labour.
If there is anything else you would like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our reception team via our Contact page.
