Jan Stringer

Acupuncturist

Jan has been practicing 5 Element and Traditional Acupuncture in multidisciplinary clinics since qualifying from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2002.

Jan became an acupuncturist after a serious illness at the age of 38 where she opted to combine East Asian Medicine with Orthodox Medicine with great success. This led to a keen interest in acupuncture and she ended a successful 17 year career as a microbiologist and Quality Assurance Manager in the Pharmaceutical Industry to return to college and complete the three year course required to be a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Asian medicine utilises completely different diagnostic methods from Orthodox medicine.  The result being that a patient coming for acupuncture is given a different light by which to see not just the condition at the root of their discomfort but also themselves in general. This can result in relief from the primary problem but with the added benefit of a greater sense of physical wellbeing and contentment.

Jan is an experienced acupuncturist with a history of treating many physical and emotional issues. She is particularly interested in neurological conditions and any conditions that have not responded well to standard treatment.

Jan does not treat under 18 year olds without prior agreement.
